  • High School or GED
  • Have a current valid Driver s License or State ID, if out of state a Florida driver's license or State ID will be required within 30 days of hire.
  • Have at least 1year s experience performing custodial or house-keeping services
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds unaided
  • Have experience mixing cleaning chemicals from concentrate in a commercial or medical setting
  • Florida Department of Health is required to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs shelter or performing other emergency duties including but not limited to, response to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster man-made or natural.


The incumbent of this position is responsible for the care and maintenance of the Lake County Health Department facilities, adjoining exterior areas, and equipment. This is semi-skilled work in several trades in the maintenance and repair of buildings, furniture and equipment.

Performs janitorial duties at the Lake County Health Department and satellite offices.

Repair and maintenance of building structures and equipment using safety precautions. Assumes cleaning requirements in the event of a breakdown in contractual cleaning agreements. Order and maintain maintenance supplies. Custodial of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for chemicals and cleaning agents that are used at the sites.

Review, schedule and update completion of assigned work orders.

Completes reports and weekly timesheets as required.

Other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:

Able to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders.

In the event of an emergency, this health department is required to perform emergency operations functions. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
